Getting logged in
Yesterday, I attended the parent meeting and presented some information about the website. The parent committee expressed a strong concern about the ability to log into the website.
If you are on the troop mailing list, I have probably sent you an e-mail with a username and password, and instructions on how to change your username and password. If you lost this e-mail or never received it, you can request one by e-mailing webmaster@okemostroop109.org.
If you know your username**, but forgot your password, you can use the forgot password link right under the login boxes. If you want to change either your username or password, log in and click on Profile. After that, scroll down and click "click here to update your information". There you can change or add whatever user information you need to. Remember to click "Save Settings" after you make changes to your profile!
**unless you changed your username, it is based on your name: John Somebody would log in with johsom

New Photo Gallery
I just switched the plugin that the website uses for the photo gallery from Corllete Lab Gallery to Auto Gallery. What this means is that not only does the photo gallery display correctly in all browsers, but all troop members will be able to upload their own photos. It's as simple as going to Photo Gallery, clicking on Submit Media (at the bottom), and choosing the pictures or videos to upload. Note that you will have to be logged in to upload a picture. The upload may take several minutes depending on how many photos you upload, how big they are, and how fast your internet connection is. If you're not an administrator, you will have to wait for an administrator to approve your photos and videos before they appear on the site. Lastly, if there is not already a folder for the camping trip you are uploading photos for, just include the name of the camping trip and the year we took it in the photo description (this is done on the Submit Media page).
Courtesy of Mr. Darnell, the photo gallery is also now stockpiled with approximately 104 pictures, and one video. There will be more to come!
Lastly, don't forget the Slideshow and Email to a friend features you can choose while viewing a photo in the gallery.

Cyclotron tour
The MSU cyclatron is a huge particle accelerator that mimics a supernova's ability to transform atoms into different atoms by adding (or removing) protons. There's actually a WHOLE lot more to it, and we get to take a tour of the cyclotron to learn all about it next meeting (Monday the 9th). You should report to the MSU cyclotron at the usual 7:00 time. Below is the handout from last meeting (Monday the 2nd). You can also download it in the downloads section.
Update: An e-mail was just sent out with further information on the meeting, be sure to read this before Monday.
